Mature Canopy, Long Frontages, and Sightlines
Shade under large Brentwood trees changes how shrubs grow and how hard they push toward light at the bed edge. Trimming plans should respect available light and avoid shearing plants into thin outer shells that die back inside.
Overgrowth removal often starts at entries, garage sightlines, and walks where shrubs have narrowed access—especially on properties with longer frontages and layered foundation plantings under established canopy.
If shrubs are woody, hollow, or repeatedly failing after hard pruning, replacement through plant installation in Brentwood may be the better conversation. We will say so during the estimate rather than trimming plants that no longer serve the landscape.
